Help

New here......I installed a new/used seat in my 96 328ic (conv) about 2 weeks ago. Got in the other day started car nd seat belt exploded. This led to wires melting in the engine harness....leading towards an ecu located under the hood on passenger's side of the vehicle.....need help in diagnosing the problem........nd possible solutions....any help would be greatly appreciated.
