X5-2005 Repair costs
Reading the forums and looking at some of the DIY's I think I'm getting a rip off quote from an Indy in my area..
here is what I got: Total to complete alternator stand gasket, valve cover gaskets along with upper timing cover gaskets and brake vacuum pump all together would save approximately $307.65 in labor overlap. $3155.26 would be the repair total and would require a 2 full days for completion. Let me know if you have any questions or wish to schedule an appointment. Is this out of this world or am I missing something? The brake vaccum pump was 700 bucks which is about the only thing that was somewhat reasonable. |

Get the retail price for the parts at http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do?vin=XXXXXXX (replace the XXXXXXX with the last 7 of your VIN). No idea on the time but if he's quoting you 16 hrs labor for less than $100/hr then he's cheaper than BMW.
