Is this possible!

Ok, i got into my first accident in my bimmer. only 3 months old the max and i have had the first accident already.
It wasn't my fault, and the car isn't in that bad of a condition!
Some lady broke right in front of my in LAX. I hit the brake, ABS engaged, i was going to hit her if if i didn't turn the wheel, i turned it, went on the curb, started hitting a bunch of hard bushes!
Front bumper is messed up. Nothing mechanical is wrong with the car!
Lady is going to pay for it cash!
I went to get a quote for the front bumper, $591.37, everything included!
So i was wondering if i paid the guy cash, and maybe added a few hundered bucks if he would change the front bumper with an M bumper!?
Any advice would be appriciated
Thank You

First of all, good move not involving Insurance companies and kudos to the lady for paying cash. Here's what I would do...ethically speaking....Get the quote for replacing your regular bumper (which it sounds like you did) and have the woman pay you that amount. Get a quote from the guy on replacing your crumpled bumper with the M-tech or whatever you're looking for then decide if its worth it for you to pay the extra dough. In a way, this accident may actually be helping you get a new M bumper for $591 less than you would have if you just replaced your regular one. Good luck. Drive slow in LAX parking lots.

Sorry to hear about the accident with your new car. I agree with jetstream23 completely. It's awesome that you're both keeping insurance companies out, especially for such a relatively small amount of money. It would only hurt you both in the long run otherwise. I think as long as she pays you the correct amount for just fixing your car to stock, what you so with it afterwards is up to you. Keep in mind that the bumper swap may include some additional parts such as fog lights etc., depending on exactly what you decide to do.

Hope you got all her pertinent info e.g. insurance, license #, home/office phone etc. or you will probably never hear from her ever. Wish you all the best!

no, an M bumper will not fit your car (assuming you meant M3)

From the description of the accident, it appears the Burakfb's car might have been in the lady's blind spot and she did a lane change without looking over her shoulder. I've seen this happen too often and keep telling my teenage daughter she needs to check her blind spots before changing lanes..."yah, yah, yah, I know, you don't have to remind me, "

I feel it is always best to get a police report done for an accident. Right now, this lady could change her mind and you would have no proof to support your claim.

I don't get it... You said you were "going to hit her" if you didn't turn. Did your car not even touch hers at all?? If the two vehicles did not make contact, why would she offer to pay for your damage, she wasn't even involved in a collision?!

Quick question: how close were you following her (and how fast were you going) if you had to swerve to avoid her?
