Flying Rock

Hello all, while driving to work this morning I was exiting the freeway, I heard a loud, cracking noise at my windshield. At first I didn't know what it was but when I got to the parking lot I checked the windshield, there was a small chipped on it. Argggg!!!! My baby only has 3000 miles on it. It just my luck.

It is

I have 3 small and ugly chips on the windshield. When the weather gets a little better, I'll take the car to a glass repair shop, the ones with smart repair thingy and have them a look.

I'll have to get it fix this weekend. I don't want the crack to run. It'll cost me more to have to replace the windshield.

Check with your insurance, many of them will fix rock chips for free. I know how you feel, I got a rock chip in my 325i around 4K miles. My ins co (State Farm) sent a guy out to the house & he drilled a tiny hole an injected clear glue to stabilize it. It's not very noticeable and has held up for almost 4 years now.

I feel your pain. I barely had my 2005 330i for a week when a rock took out my right foglight. And I didn't even hear the rock at all. Of course, the foglight also has to be replaced as a whole assembly, and my two local dealerships won't do a "good will" replacement.

Thanks for the info. I'll check how much it'll cost. If it's not too much, I'll just pay for it. I don't want my insurance rate to go up.
