No.
LSDs were optional on early non-M E36 325s ('92 to '93 or '94) and then came standard on all E36 M3s. All other E36s did not have an LSD.

It would only have an LSD if your car was ordered with the cold weather package and does not have ASC-T.

If you key in the car's VIN at http://www.bmwvin.com/ it will tell you the car's options, including LSD if it came with it.

'course, someone could have swapped in an LSD... but on a 318- i doubt it.

Actually, my 92 318i does have an LSD. It was a factory option, and not a cheap one.
I will try to snap a shot of the window sticker, but its pretty faded.

I ordered LSD on mine as well. I think it is a much better for a 318is than ASC+T. You do need to know how to apply it.

I had LSD once. It was pretty crasy.
