Windshield Wipers scratched Windshield!

First rain in my new 6 day old X3 scratched my windshield yesterday.
I used the wipers and now I have a sctratch across the driver side.
It not horrible, but its there and reflects when the sun hits it just right.

How do I go about getting this fixed?
I'm expecting some reluctance from the dealer on this.

any suggestions?

I could not figuire out how to activate the rear window.
It wasn't in the book.
You have to push the windsheild wiper nob back. Kinda like activating the brights on the left side.

Maybe obvious to some, but this is my first car with a back wiper.

You can visit a good glass shop to see about having the scratch buffed out.

Just curious...how did you do this? Was the glass wet or dry with the wiper going across it? This is EXACTLY why I do not use the rear wiper on any vehicle I have owned. The German glass is known to be soft and scratch very, very, easily. I Rain-X the rear windows of all my cars and have never had a problem with rain or snow. I apply the Rain-X about 2-3 times a year. As far as the windshield, I always make sure the window is plenty wet with fluid before turning on the wiper. Good luck with the scratch removal.....Be careful with the rear wiper........you may want to use the Rain-X.

I think you misunderstood. He scratched the left side of his FRONT windshield. He does not know how to use the rear wiper.

You are correct on how to turn on the rear wiper-instead of pulling the wiper switch to clean the front windshield press it towards the front of the car-the wiper will swipe & then is somewhat intermittent, it won't come on like the front ones do.
