'85 528e startup after 6 months idle

Following the previous message....

due to the starter issue the car has been parked outdoors (cold canada) under a roof and has not started up in almost 6 months.

Any suggestions on what to do to derisk issues after starting? (without getting too extensive - it's an old (but good) car).

Squirt some motor oil in the sprk plug holes and crank a bit manually before firing it up?

Any areas than can suffer from humidy (elecrical) that might give us problems? It was issue free last year.

The e28 528e is the M20 "small block" 2.5 liter engine , the 535i has the "big block" 3.5 liter.
The m20 and m30 starters are a PITA to r and r.
One of the bolts is very hard to get to. I have found the best way is with a ratcheting box end wrench. I don't recall the size but would guess 13 mm. The Bentley manual mentions a half moon wrench but I have never seen one, so don't know how well that works.
I have never heard of anyone doing a rebuild on a starter. I would just get a rebuild.

On the engine start after sitting for 6 months, I would do an oil and filter change and as you mentioned a little oil in the cylinders wouldn't hurt.
