TURNER MOTORSPORT READY TO MAKE WAVES IN SANTO DOMINGO

TMS Team Plays In The Dominican Sand

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic - March 11, 2005 - Turner Motorsport hits the track again starting today for the second round of the 2005 Grand Am Cup GS season. Bill Auberlen and Justin Marks will be behind the wheel of the #96 Turner Motorsport/H&R Springs BMW M3 for Sunday’s Miller Grand Am Cup 200 mile event in the Caribbean city of Santo Domingo. This will be a GS-class only event with the second round of the ST class scheduled for April 1-2 in California.

The Auberlen/Marks M3 looked strong at Daytona – posting fast times in practice and scoring the pole position for the race. However, a faulty throttle position switch left the car unable to move and the team was forced to retire the M3. In the ensuing month since Daytona, Grand Am Cup officials levied another 100lbs to the M3 and took away the use of an aftermarket air intake.

The Santo Domingo track is a 1.6-mile permanent circuit 15 minutes outside the city. A number of local racing series will also take part in the activities this weekend with the Grand Am Cup series as the headliner.

Practice sessions are scheduled for Friday morning and afternoon, and Saturday morning. Qualifying is on Saturday afternoon at 12:00pm ET. After a final practice session on Sunday morning, the 200-mile race kicks off at 1:00pm ET. The Grand Am Cup website has Live Timing & Scoring available to follow Auberlen and Marks throughout the weekend.
