If you're talking about coupes that are already built and in the U.S., either near Irvine or throughout the country, the salesman is probably correct, but the dealership can take orders for E46 2005 coupes until August 2005 and then they can take orders for 2006 E46 coupes until at least the first part of the calendar year (probably up until February) of 2006. If you need a car now, by all means jump on the 325Ci offer, but if you don’t mind waiting a couple months for the exact 330Ci, you’re guaranteed to get one. E46 sedans are out of production, not coupes. I hope this information helps.

Exactly. Don't let the dealer coerce you into buying one of these cars simply based on availability. Especially, since it sounds like the options you want are pretty normal. Sports Package, Xenons, etc are VERY common. If you can wait a few months, have them order the car for you. There's no extra cost, and you can negotiate just as if it were on their lots today. Of course this only holds true for the coupes since the sedans are out of production.

This still doesn't add up. 33K plus tax alone equals $35,557.50. But whatever, it doesn't matter; if he quoted you an OTD final price of $34,980.00 then if you figure from there you are paying less than $32,464.00 (even less if you subtract license, other fees). Sounds like a decent deal, especially if you consider that dealers aren't discounting coupes/cabrios as much as sedans because they still have another year of production left.

If I remember correctly, I think OC sales tax rate is 7.75%, right?
