disable factory alarm on 97 540i
Does anyone know how to disable the alarm on a 97 540i? My alarm goes off 5 minutes after I lock the car no matter where the car is what the conditions are. I want to disable it until I get a chance to have the dealer look at it. Thanks

I don't know about your model/year, but on mine you can double tap the lock button and the interior motion sensor is bypassed. See if that makes the problem go away so you can narrow down your search.
If not the motion sensor, it could be your hood, door, or trunk pins. Do you leave a cell phone in the car when it goes off?

I removed the fuse
There is a 5 amo fuse in the trunk. It might only be for the siren, but I think it's the whole thing.
