Clear light kits

Awhile back someone started a thread by showing their new clears. They indicated that they ordered them from Bekkers.com. I have been looking at them and have a couple of questions? First of all, why are they so damned expensive. $300 plus for some pieces of plastic? Second of all, why are the clear kits for the coupes $383, and $483 for the sedan? I suppose lastly, does anyone know of a site that sells them cheaper?

Actually OEM clears for the sedan are in the $450+ range. The sedan lights are more expensive because they will also require that portion of the lights (backup light assembly) mounted to the trunk lid also be replaced, so you get 2 more pieces.

And of course if you are looking to save a couple bucks at the cost of quality, you can always get some knock off pieces from Ebay.

like he said, but most people who do that regret it because the fit isn't very good and apparently they aren't sealed well, so they leak and let moisture in and stuff..

so those people end up having to buy the imported OE ones anyway.. also why the sedan tend to be somewhat expensive, they aren't widely available through dealerships because the sedan ones aren't DOT approved.. legal in the US.. so they are imported in limited quantities by certain companies like bekkers, ,bavauto, maximillian imports..etc..etc

most forum sponsors are able to get them at GB prices.. if you're really interested try contacting a sponsor and see if they'll host a GB..

I think it's worth it for the OEM clears. I have a sedan and just did this through a group buy from bekkers. The fit was perfect--exact same as what what on there.
