Need advice ASAP - 545i or RS6?

Need to decide today between buying a new 545i Sport or a used Audi RS6. The RS6 is famous for being easily upgradable; from what I read you can get an EPROM flash for $900 to bump the horsepower into the mid-500s. What I want to know is if I want more power out of my Bimmer a couple years down the line will there be affordable aftermarket options to give me that power, or are the Bimmer engines already so well-tuned that you basically need to spend $20k more for any kind of major HP upgrade? (Yes, I am a clueless Lexus owner, and no, an M5 is not an option because I drive automatic).

I think you are a bit naive coming from a lexus (and out for a rude awakening). All I have to say is that... if youf**k w/ the RS6 on mods, I hope you have a steep walet to back-up you blown engine. Audi is not Japanese car, unlike the toyota, they will break down (more so if you push it). and is not cheap to fix like the toyotas.

The 545 is not easily mod-able and trust me... its a good thing.

This is what I suspected... I'm not a 'car guy' and don't have the time or inclination to become one, so if treating the RS6 well is going to require such investment, then it's not for me. I test-drove the 545 and was very happy with the performance. Looks like a done deal.
