BMW salvage place, but these cars are pretty new and likely few arts car's around. Even is you find one, you'd likely have to buy the complete mirror assembly, but it's possible. If not, well, you may be stuck buying a pricey New genuine German mirror.

Try Double02 Salvage in Hayward; they've been around for umpteen years.

Bay Area BMW dealers are typically pricey. BWW parts are often that way....welcome to the Ultimate Driving Machine

Did your old mirror have automatic dip (goes darker at night when appropriate?). BMW has gone away from this feature on the right side recently, but not sure about the 4-series.

Also, check http://realOEM.com for alternatives.

Its $120 online not bad but insurance would be cheaper by $20

I tapped the mirror into a concrete pillar in a garage and the right mirror cracked. The black rim housing was also a little roughed up so I replaced that. Maybe it was $85 for the black part. For the mirror, I had an Army pal stationed in Germany buy a used mirror glass for something like $15.

Originally, I was quoted some huge figure that I don't remember. It might have been $400 for the whole side mirror assembly.

Do you know where I can buy the glass or black rim housing? Or if I can just pop out the glass from the plastic rim housing

Getbmwpart.com is where I bought the black rim. If yours is not damaged, you can buy the mirror glass alone. Basically, adjust to mirror to one side then pry it off carefully.

Mirror glass....I bet you'll find the price right near the $120 mark as sold by ECS Tuning; most parts suppliers are typically pretty darn close in pricing on original BMW parts. It's the BMW dealers who tend to mark the stuff up to make the big profit! But, never hurts to shop.

Insurance might be cheaper up front, but will those greedy turds increase your premium because you filed a claim?

Wow so actually on ECS tuning mine is $350 https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/51167285010/ Can I just pry off the glass and keep the housing? Any tutorials on that?

The mirror snaps onto the motorized base. Tilt it up or down & use a pencil, chopstick, or plastic trim tool to carefully pry it off. There will be an electrical connector to disconnect so hold onto the glass!
