New look with less chrome.

Finally replaced the chrome window trim and I love the results. Overall, the install was pretty easy. Here are some pictures of before and after.

Me too. Not a chrome plated plastic fan.

Everyone has different preferences, which is good or it would be a very dull world, but I think the chrome accents break up the dark blob.

All that really matters is that you like it.

I’m in the market and only reason I don’t want a luxury Cas of the chrome and ugly wheels, even though the price is a lot less then the M Sports

+1 I replaced the black grill on my f30 with a chrome rimmed one just for this reason. My car is black and with the black grill it had no contrast.

Very true khammack! Car shows wouldn't be fun if all the cars were the same.

I bought the parts from ECS Tuning. The install was pretty easy, basically just pulling off the old and installing the new (proper alignment is needed). The hardest part was the front doors because you have to remove the side view mirrors which means removing the door panels too.

Looks great! Shadowline trim always makes such a dramatic difference.

They offered bright side window trim as a option on black, U.S. spec' , F10 M5's for that reason.

I've seen bright side window trim on an orange F10 M5 at the Performance Center... but not for long. Some 20-something student in M School put that orange M5 into a guard rail about five minutes into the first day of the school.

Bright window trim was available on M5's in some Asian markets. I've seen videos from India with it.

Porsche offers bright side window trim as an a la carte option on Carerra's.
