Who else is getting M6??

Okay...
I know its a bit early, and most medias are focusing on the release of the E60 M5.

So for you early birds... Color and Option??

I am definitely ordering Interlagos Blue with the aluminun trim.

SMG III and HUD is a definitely a must.

everything else is still up in the air

Your thoughts??

So are you getting both the M5 and M6 or getting the M6 in place of the M5?

If you're already getting the M5, I'd mix it up and spend the money on a 997TT.

Are ya sure the engine is S65, Beewang? I thought it was S85

I'm saving my pennies for the E60 M right now. Gonna have to wait and see how much more expensive the E63 is going to be, could be by quite a bit judging from euro guys.

I am a big fan of the new M6, and albeit the new E60 M5 will no doubt be a "super sedan" and more practical in terms of passenger space. There is no doubt in my mind that the M6, the new BMW "flagship" car in perfomance is a better car for my purpose. I am looking something that is a lil' lighter, nimble than a super sedan and have the "predictability" in maintenance cost for 4~ 6 year. And that is why Porsche won't be in the picture for my foreseeable future.

I was given a fair offer for my #1 spot for the E60 M5. I sold the spot and am focusing on the M6

What are you going to do w/ your E39 M5?? I am keeping mine and the fact that I am , the thought of 2 fast sedans (granted the E60 is significantly faster and lighter than the E39 M5) just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I have reason to believe that the M6 at retail MSRP (before mark-up) will be in the $90k~ just sub $100k. $10k over the E60 M5 Seens like a fair price for a car w/ carbon fiber material as a set of ultra light wheels to match.

Your thoughts??

Well if you know knew the real truth.

Doing ED on a e60 and flipping the car for a few bucks is not "owning" is it? Bee how are you going to "buy" a M6 and afford that new house on an accountants salary?

If anyone wants to "Buy" his spot in line I'm sure Beewang will be happy to help you out. I wonder how long this post will be allowed to survive as it interferes with Bee's marketing plans.

Well, the plan is to trade the E39 in for E60. As much as I'd love to start my "M5 collection"... I don't see that happening, heh. I'm not on any lists, so come next summer I'll have a talk with my favourite BMW sales lady and go from there

And yah, that's about what I've understood about M6 pricing as well. I'll see how comfortable I am with the price difference when the push comes to shove... I'm leaning towards the boring family sedan, personally

Trading my 645Ci 6-speed for the M6 and am on waiting list in Canada. Gave deposit in January. Dealer says sometime between March and September '06. Not crazy about the color choices so I hope there may be some additional ones by then. Sepang Bronze is the best of them I think.

I like the color of my 645 (Stratus grey with cream leather and elmwood interior), and might just spec it as an individual color on the M6. Resigned to getting SMGIII rather than wait an indeterminate time for the stick.

I'm all over the M6. I ED'd a Blk/Cream 645 Cic very early on and loved it. The wife loved it even more.

The big question for me is whether to get a cab or coupe in the M. The 645 was the first cab I have ever owned and I liked it and all, but I have always been a coupe guy. The wife definately wants another cab. Any thoughts and opinions as to value retention, appearance, etc. on the cab/coupe question would be welcomed.

Colors will either be Silverstone or Jet Black with a darker tan interior with wood or piano black trim. Not sure what options will be offered but it I will get it fairly loaded. Would probably skip the full leather option at $5K however.

This will be a kicka$$ car for sure. As soon as I get it chipped to remove the limiter and add a few HP to give me that completely unnecessary performance edge I'll feel much better. Yea yea I know, I'll never take it to 200mph most likely, but what the heck. In reality, does anyone really need the performance of an M6 here in the states/Southern California anyways?? I can hardly wait for the $70 fillups so I can belch and spew out hydrocarbons as I skim across the desert floor at a very high velocity!!!

Personally I prefer the coupe..its just a lot more pleasant to drive at high speed than a convertible. Generally convertibles have a much better resale value though, so I guess I'm in the minority. The M6 has no moon roof sadly. I like the open air feeling of my 645 and will miss it on the M6, but I would far prefer to run hard in a coupe. Am going to pick it up in Germany so will have an opportunity after a few thousand Km to run it properly.
