X3 Aero Package, Anyone has it?

Hi

I took a look at X3 accessory caterlog yesterday and saw X3 Aero package. The aero pakcage has front and rear bumper and side sil, not only look more agressive, but also they come with body color. I think it makes the X3 look a lot better than the stock. So my question is that anyone on here got their X3 with that aero package? If so, did you order from the from the factory, or is it a dealer install option? In the caterlog, the price of the aero kit is $2500, is this price include painting and installation? Anyone who got this package on their X3 please give me some infomation. thanks a lot

I have seen one in person, and I think it looks fantastic. It makes the car look compete, b/c the black bumper is just so BIG.

It does look very cool (no, i don't have it). There's no way i'm going to pay $2500 for it. I kinda like the black bumpers...gives it a more off road type feel, even though it's probably never gonna go off road.

My local dealer had one in Black and it looked really cool! They had the bikes set up in the back and it was all decked out- really made it look nice.

Thumbs up

the aero kit is very very nice and adds a lot of dimension to the car...im ordering it now. you can get the kit only from the dealer becasue its a bmw only part. the part is 2600, and the paint and install from a authorized bmw dealer is about 2500-3000. it makes a huge difference were you go with it. it is well worth the money!!!! i know its a lot, but when you see the end result, it goes away from that ugly toyota rav 4 plastic body look, and takes it to a fully loaded bmw car!

let me know what you think...

Am i reading correctly that to get the part installed and everything, you're going to pay nearly $5600? You do realize that you'll get $0 back in resale from that, right? If you want it, it's up to you but it seems like an awful lot of $$$. It might be wiser to wait a few years until X3's come standard like that. I have no proof or knowledge that they will, but usually that's what happens. Examples are the X5 and ML320.

The kit does indeed look nice. Saw this one at a dealership a while back:

This is the only way that this so called SAV should have been offered for sale, IMO. The overabundance of unpainted plastic, although it is supposed to shout "off road", "rugged" and all that, is simply absurd in a $40,000 vehicle, and in this type of "Ultimate Driving Machine" as that... specially when no other car maker do this at those prices, not even Land Rover. And that is a really extremely capable off road vehicle.

And incredibly, they slapped a $2600 price tag to fix that bad marketing decision... and now another $2500 to paint it? Give me a break...

Well for one, I think the extra 2500 was for his BMW dealer to paint and install it. If a body shop did it im positive itd be under 1000. Second, if i had an X3, id be perfectly with getting the stock bumbers and side skirts painted and leaving it at that.
