SMG on E90: Worth the Wait? - Bimmerfest

I believe SMG will be available on the E90 around September 2005.

But is it worth the wait ? My Dealer scared me away saying that only few buyers care about SMG and it is not hot on the 3 series except on the M3.

Any comments ?

Your dealer is right, it won't be popular except on the M car. The version offered on the Z4 and the E46 was different from the one on the M3 and M owners didn't think much of it You really should test drive the E90 SMG before you commit to owning one, but it will be a long time before you get the opportunity. I'll be surprised if dealers order any of these for inventory.
