E90 side mirrors too tiny?

When test driving I realized the E90 side mirrors are extremely tiny compared to other cars I have driven. Has this been a major issue or nagging factor for any of you E90 owners?

What is BMW's logic behind these tiny mirrors? What do they lose by giving decent sized mirrors?

I noticed it too. But on my 2nd test drive, I got used to it.

Try this.

Adjust your mirrors

I always use this technique with whatever car I drive and it works!

I thought the mirrors were small too. The mirror glass is convex for that wide-angle view....but they take a little getting used to.

I adjusted the mirrors. They work but it might be nice if they offered a bit more viewing area.

Its what you get used to. I had the same problem when I first started driving my E46, but that's because my truck had 6"x9" mirrors. I suppose those mirrors would look odd on a BMW (and probably limit top speed). Fine now.

Exactly. I am used to my Nissan Murano's huge rear view mirrors.

...

I was at the dealer yesterday and found an imola red 320 with SP, front and rear lips it was great. Ya the side mirrors are tiny with bluish ghost compared to my 5er..

I sat in the 330 as well... liked the one with nav more but damn they were asking $50k for a fully loaded 330 but no bluetooth or SP

One remark though and I raised it during 3er launch, the back seats have the side bolster that is larger than enough. They could have cut a 3-4" from the leather toward the door panel and gave more space to the seat. Now 2 adults could sit comfortably but impossible for 3. With that mod 3 could fit for short journeys at least.

Just comparing the mirrors of the new IS350. The side mirrors on the IS look decently big enough. Only question is will the IS350 handle as good as the bimmer. If there is any improvement in handling versus the previous model, it is worth taking a serious look.

They are fine. What you realize is that the mirrors need to be wide but not that high (unless you are looking the the rear view mirrors for planes or balloons). They are still wide and work wekk.
