What is this car worth?
Never made its reserve.
What should it sell for? Is it missing anything or wrong in some respect that would cause it not to hit its reserve? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT |

Having been typed, I don't buy the matching numbers he claims. No pic of the VIN on the frame, the top of the steering column, or on the engine. (The VIN on the engine is REALLY hard to capture with a camera.) 5 speed '02 with matching numbers... It's not the stock 4-speed trany. minus value for me.Look at his engine VIN plate. Looks mighty worn down. Plus, if the car was originally Colorado, why does it have the Chamonix sticker and the car is not Chamonix? Just a lot of little things here that aren't adding up. My story. I paid a lot less for my 1969 BMW 2002 from the original owner (I got the black Cali plates, too). I have all the service records from 1969 through 1987 for it, too. I am in contact with the owner still and am getting more on my car's history. (Also, I got the original owner's manual with US suppliment.) Just to keep her 2002 running for 36 years, the original owner spent $17,000 (after adding up all services from 1969-2005). So him dumping $20k plus into the car is believeable, but not what adds value to his car. A car's value to me: - Matching numbers - the Car's History - For it's age, how close to stock is it - does it run? - Is it in original condition (original seats, seatbelts, stereo, etc...) (This car is not the original color) - the less "mods" the better - OEM all the way - rarity (the car on eBay is the 994th out of the 7,449 US Spec Tii's, based of it's VIN.) just my $0.03 on this matter. ~Vroomer

Thanks Vroomer...
Been kicking around the idea of getting an '02 so I started looking on eBay. Probably wont end up getting one anytime soon as it would mean having to sell my motorcycles for the space and $$. |

where's the VIN stamp on the frame? not the VIN plate. My '02 has 2 VINs right there (1 stamped on the frame and 1 on the plate on the frame). I'll post a pic of my '02's VINs later.
