JD Power Initial Quality Survey

I saw over on msn.com that the X3 was the first runner up in the initial quality surveys for entry luxury suvs. Lexus RX330 was in first place. The X3 beat out the Infiniti FX35 and Fx45. It doesn't say what other cars were in the group.

Don't know how much I'd trust their opinion, given that when you click on the X3 it lists a "base retail price" of "$44,600-$49,900"

Unfortunately, that is correct... it is a Canadian site. And that is the base in Canada dor te 2.5 and 3.0 respectively.

This was covered in a previous X3 thread FYI.

Canadian or otherwise the X3 scored very high in this poll.

Higher than almost all new European or American models when compared to the luxury class Japanese vehicles such as the RX330 (pregnant roller skate).

Kudos to Magna Steyr in Austria!

oops

Sorry I missed the other thread. But it is also a little wrong to say the Lexus tops the survey because it is a Japanese car. The fit and quality has to do with engineering to a great degree but let us give a hand to the Canadian workers who assemble the RX in Ontario. They obviously have pride of workmanship.

Similarly, (but a little far fetched,, and a lot tongue in cheek) let's give credit to the Canadian owners of the Magna plant in Austria where the X3 is assembled.
