Buying a 2006 X3 - info needed please

[FONT=Comic Sans MS]First time forum user here. Currently own a 06 330i (arriving in 2 weeks!) & a 03 X5. Thinking of trading in the X5 for a 06 X3, and would appreciate input/info on the following:

1. changes from 05 to 06 models? My dealer told me there will not be a change to the engines or interior. Only change is the color keyed bumpers. Anyone has any confirmed info? Color choices?

2. Sports vs non-sports. Test drove a 05 X3 3.0 w/ sports but found that it was more on the bumpy side. However preferred the 3-spoke steering wheel & the 18" wheel package. Feedback from any X3 3.0 sports owner?

Thanks

I own a regular X3. I tested the sport and found the standard shocks were fine.

Unless you want the sport seats, wheels, and/or steering wheel - the regular suspension is plenty stiff.

Don't know why the post appears twice?

Welcome to the X3 family...The only thing i can add is if you don't want the ride to be too bumpy, then opt out of the sport package. I have the premium/winter package, and the car move and corner better than my 323i.

I bought my X3 last month, with premium pack and activity pack. The ride is good for me, cornering is awesome as well. I think regular suspension is good enough for me.
But if you currently driving the X5, I think new X3 wont give you any surprise anyway.
X5 interior looks much luxury than X3 as well.

someone said new engine for 06 X3, but some say same engine. Some say keyed bumper optional but some say no. Still dont have any firm answer so far.

I have the sports package with the 18" wheels and find the ride to be fine. I do about 70% highway driving and 30% city driving. The only time I find the ride to be harsh is when I am driving down old city streets with lots of cracks and potholes. The handling of the sports package with the wider upgraded 114 wheels and performance tires is excellent.
