x3 Problem

I have been having problems with my 3-month old x3 transmission (jerky etc). The dealership said it was the "crank center" going bad.

Does anyone know what the crank center is and what it does. I guess I can't figure out why a 3-month old car would already have parts going bad (forgive me for saying this, but i'm a girl who know next to nothing about cars)

Well whatever the cause, at least you caught it before the warranty is up. Have the dealership repair it and keep your eye on it.

Is it a demo? do you have any mileage on it when you first got it?
The center of the flywheel is the crank center, and now you may wonder what is flywheel? Ask your dealer to fix, once fixed, push engine abit and see if transmission is smooth.

I'm with BMW of North America, LLC. I've passed this message on to a BMW NA Customer Relations Representative who will be in touch with you soon.
