Bluetooth In Carphone Pre Wired E39

THIS E39 IS FROM JAPAN WHERE FM FREQUENCY IS 76-90MHz.
OUTSIDE JAPAN WHERE FM IS 86-108MHz MOST PEOPLE INSTALL BAND EXPANDER.
I'M THINKING OF USING A BLUETOOTH PHONE WITH FM TUNER.

IF I RETROFIT BLUETOOTH INTO THIS CPT7000 PRE WIRED E39 2001
WILL I BE ABLE TO GET PHONE RADIO BEYOND 90MHz INTO CAR.

ie. WHILE MY E39 RADIO WILL NOT TUNE PAST 90MHz, I CAN TUNE TO 95MHz
ON THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTED PHONE AND HAVE IT HEARD ON THE CAR STEREO.

WILL ANY BLUETOOTH EXPERTS PLEASE GIVE SOME ADVISE. THANKS.

I have not heard of a blutooth phone being used through the FM tuner. Your bluetooth setup (BMW bluetooth ULF module or aftermarket module) should have nothing to do with the FM tuner. The BT system will only tie into the radio to mute audio when a making a call.

No. Only wireless phone services are supported on the BMW BT ULF. No special phone features (MP3 player, FM radio) is supported/acessible via the BT ULF.

How come you are not able to get FM reception through the car radio? Did you import your car into Japan?? If so, you can buy a new radio module for Japan and replace the one in your vehicle.

Results of tests using a Motorola V635 GSM phone with built in MP3 player, plug in headset and BT headset:

1. When the plug-in headset is connected, BT connection cannot be establiahed/activated to BT headset.

2. When the phone's MP3 player is playing (audio from speaker) and the BT headset is switched on, the BT connection is made, but the MP3 audio is cut off. I surmise audio is devoted to the BT session. MP3 audio is resumed when the BT session is terminated.

Based on these results, it appears only ONE audio output is allowed.
