Programmin Garage Doors

Does anyone else have problems with settin the 3 homekeys wit the garage doors....My house garage door opener is a couple years old, but works with my Navigator, and is not workin with the BMW....my garage door opener at my office is brand new....and still does not work wit the BMW....any1 have any solutions to this dilemma....thanks in advance

Did you follow the instructions for programming a 'rolling code' opener? Also, you need to read the instructions that came with the garage door opener itself.

I tried and succeeded.
However I must admit that my fingers went almost numb from holding the buttons, and occasionally pressing and depressing.

That is the key you know. You have to keep on pressing the button, and leave it on for about 10 seconds, depress, and do the same again. Try doing it to the buttons on the rear view mirror, and do the same on the hand remote.

Make sure to keep the hand remote real close. Sometimes it helps if you don't hold the hand remote steady. Wiggle it a bit. I think it took me about 15 minutes, and almost gave up. But glad I stuck it out.

Not sure if this is an option available in some models. I have an 05 530i w/ Nav. Does my car bring this option? Thanks

First clear the system then follow the directions.. I have an 06 530i and it took me a few tries. Make sure the green light comes on and then blinks..then you know you have a good setting. I had to close my garage door so I could see the green light it was so dim, or try doing at at night in your driveway.

If there's 3 buttons on the lower left of your inside rear view mirror, your car has Homelink.

I got mine set up with two genie screw openers that are 3 years old (rolling codes) although it took a couple tries. I've never owned a car that easily programmed.
