Are those style 42 (bolted) on the rears? Those wheels are gonna be around forever.

Er... did they make style 42 in 18"?

Yes style 42 comes in 18x9. BMW has a tradition of using old wheel designs on their prototypes. Style 37 was used on E34, E39 and E60 M5 test mules as well as E46 M3

As for the looks, I wasn't a big fan of the E90 when I first saw the pics. But the Joji Nagashima design has grown on me tremendously. It's a perfect combination of his previous works: the Z3's aggressiveness and the E39's classy lines. IMO it's THE best looking BMW under the new design direction and Nagashima is definitely one of the best designers BMW have.

The plates are Munich registration. Temporary plates.

I can't wait to see this car with the real body kit. For now, we can only dream.

I actually thought that too until I saw it for real on a parking lot, I parked side by side, and did some a$$ comparison, and it was ok. I still prefer the E46 rear.

Yeah, but the lip on a style 42 for the e46 is significantly less. Does the e90 have the same offset as the 5/7 series cars? The wheels on the front look like those shod on the base 750i.

I'm trying to figure out what wheels to get to upgrade an E90 325 non-sport.

The OEM E90 wheels are pretty pricey. What exactly is the offset range to be looking for? I know the bolt pattern is 5x120. What other factors are there to consider?

I was thinking maybe a set of wheels (oem or replica) from a previous year BMW would be available for less. Both the 2 piece and 7 big spoke wheels on that test car in the photos are very similar to what I've seen on 3 series in the past and had on a 5 series I owned.
