My 328i won't start - HELP!!

My '00 328i is acting extremely strange. Last week, my wife said it was difficult to start, and when she got it home, it acted like the battery was dead (starter motor wouldn't turn the engine over). I tried to jump it and the starter turned the engine over, but it wouldn't ignite. I noticed some very strange electrical gremlins when I was trying to jump it like the xenon lights came on with the light switch being off and the temp gauge pegged red (without the idiot light on) even though the car was cold. I was hoping these were just by products of low current, so I went out and got a new battery.

I put the new battery in with no luck. The starter motor now spins the engine fine, but I can't get ignition. The temp gauge is still pegged (4 days of sitting later), and the DSC light stays on during the attempted startup. Have any of you seen anything this strange before? I'm hoping it's something simple like an ECU reset, but I'm not holding my breath. If anyone has any suggestions to try before I get it towed to my mechanic tomorrow, I'd appreciate suggestions...

Thanks.
