need a jump

I have no owners manual for my 1997 328i convet with a dead battery How do I jump start it?

The same way you jump any other car. Connect red to the postive lead in the engine bay (located on the passenger side, just forward of the ecu). You can connect black to chasis ground.

Start donor car....then start your car. Allow to run for 10mins or so...then go for like a 30min drive with all aux electronic turned off.

Your battery should recharge.

No, ECU refers to the electronics control unit...the computer which is behind the firewall. I was using it's location as a reference.

Just look for a black square box on the passenger side of the engine bay with a big red plus painted on it. The box opens to reveal the positve lead.
