Are these the same thing?

"Windows Guide Seal" and "Roof Frame Seal"... are they the same thing?

I've been experiencing the squeeking noise on all four doors and sent to the dealer twice:
- first time they replaced the "Inner Windows Trim"
- second time they replaced the "Roof Frame Seal"

But now I found a newer SIB suggesting to replace the "Windows Guide Seal":

http://www.alldata.com/tsb/BMW/11228...5/5128051.html

If these two are the same thing, I will just give up and stop trying to fix this annoying problem. But if they are not the same, I just want to get it done for the last time and don't want to deal with the only dealer here any more. It's even more annoying dealing with them

Inner window trim: trim between the window and the door.
Door frame seal: trim on outer edge of door, that touches the body frame. This is the seal to which the earlier carboflo treatment was applied (has the flocked finish).

You didn't mention the dates of the various services, but from your link, appears that the door frame seal material was reformulated in June 2005. So, if the "second time" attempted fix was pre-June 2005, I would try again. Let me know cause I am ready to bring mine back in as the Carbaflo treatment seems to have run its course.

Hi sfca-325I

- Inner Window Trim replaced in Mid-July
- Roof (not Door) frame seal replaced in End-Sept

I thought the reformulated materials was refering to the "Windows Guild Seal"?

Hmmm, don't know. From this post, seems that the SIB covers the seal material between the door and the body.
