Difficult to start then misfires alot then is ok
Hi,
I have a 1989 535i SE which has an intermittent fault. Some times it is really difficult to start and when it does get started it misfires really badly but after driving for about 20 minutes to ½ an hour it sorts it's self out and drives fine. It doesn't do this every time. I was thinking it could be moisture getting into the ignition system either in the distributor cap or somewhere in the ECU. I've ordered new plugs, leads, distributor cap and rotor arm to see if that helps. Has anyone had similar problems, and if so, how did you cure them? Thanks |
