Too many spark graphite grey E90's....

Do you guys think there is an abundant number of spark graph E90's out there? What will this do to resale value?

i guess it would be great, bcoz its the most sought after color.

E90 colors ordered the most by my local BMW Dealer. TS, SG, ER, AW, and JB.

The gentleman at the European Delivery center in Germany commented that I was one of the rare people who ordered titanium silver. I pointed out that while people might not often order it for ED, dealer allocations contain tons of titanium silver cars.

It's interesting what the ED buyer vs. the lot buyer is interested in.

You also need to realize tha certain colors are bought by certain people. Not everyone is into internet forums etc.Tia Silver is the most popular color on the street, I believe and my dealer said they mostly order Titanium and white.

I don't think there is that many out there. I had to order my Sparkling Graphite cause there was none listed anywhere in the computer. Haven't seen one on the road around here in that color. Seen mostly white & black.

White? Maybe in the U.S. In Germany, it is referred to as Kühlschrankweiß and that and red are very rare due to lack of popularity.

The grey is a great color!

Having had nothing but blue and grey vehicles over the last number of years I went with the Barrique Red (with Black interior) just for a change and desire to have something a little different.

It is a very distinct and unique color. I like it but I bet many don't or won't. I lease so resale is not an issue.

I see quite a few Spark. Graph and Monaco Blue e90's around me. A few employees at the mall drive them i think. I see them in the mall garage all the time

No wonder, with a name of "Refrigerator White", why would anyone order it?

My father recently purchased a Toyota (Camry) Solara in the pearly white color. When I told him I'd be buying another Alpine White BMW, he asked, "Well, is that a pearly white like mine, or something dull like a 'refrigerator white'?" I said, "It's the same color I have now, Alpine White." He said, "So it looks like a refrigerator."

You just can't pay for better advice than that.

Euro delivery guy in Munich made an effort to point out to me that I wasn't the only red 330 taking delivery that day. There was another U.S. customer taking delivery of a red 330 right across from me ("Hi" if you're reading this... )

I was going to order Sparkling Graphite but didn't like its purplish hue...

You could always come back with, "Yeah, maybe it looks like a refrigerator, but at least I'm not the one driving an appliance".

Disclaimer: Make sure of at least one of two things before you pop-off to your Pop in this manner; (1) He has a great sense of humor in that he can laugh at himself, and/or (B) you are an only child and in excellent standing in regards to your inheritance.

I have SG now, and I love the color. The only thing I don't like is the high maintenance that comes with dark colors. I can actually see the swirls in the paint. I'll probably go for white next time - nice and easy.

Dude, white is a dirt magnet...no color is immune from dirt, although Silver, SG, Artik does conceal it somewhat.

I've seen Sparkling Graphite when dirty and its not a pleasant sight.

I haven't seen too many e90's period, let alone too many sg's. I would agree that there are too many grey BMW's on the road. But then again do they make the same picasso painting in different colors? hmmmmmmm

Schley: I agree...I haven't seen too many E90s here in SD either. The sales are supposed to be going well but in the last month or so I've only seen one or two....and being a Realtor I drive around a LOT so I'm surprised.

Either way I haven't seen too many SGs....the ones I see are mostly black or TiSilver.

This is probably one of the most stupid questions (and there are lot) that I have seen on this forum. Of course, it doesn't say much for me either since I am addressing it.

Whatever.....

First, thoug I see 4-5 BMWs a day on my drive to/from work, I have not seen any e90's as of yet.

As to SG, I think it is one of the best new colors out there, and I do not see it in any way hurting resale value.

The color which is way too prevalent, and one which in my opinion would reduce reale value, is TS.

I liked the SG when the E90 came out, but it's just as bad as black to maintain. I thought I liked MB (mystic blue) until I spent approx 30 mins watching the color change when the sun comes in and out of the clouds. It looks great when the sun is out, but very dull (flat/non-metallic) when the sun is not out. So...once again it changed. I'm back to SG.

BTW, I have two alpine white BMWs in the garage, they don't stay that clean either. My 0.02, silver is the easiest to maintain. Too bad the last 3 BMWs I've had were silver, bored with silver now.

Orignally I made a deal for a SG car, after seeing an e90 in the dealers compound in SG, dirty I decided to switch to TS, and I am really glad I did. I loved the look of SG in the brochure, but after seeing it in person I am so happy I got TS and waited the excruciating 2 days for the dealer to swap cars with another dealer.

I had a SG E90 Prem, Sport, Manual on order but once the demo cars came out and I put my two boys in back it just wasn't big enough so I went E60. Now that I see them on the road the TS E90 w/ sports package is the sharpest in my eyes. Great looking car in any color....
