Good catch Cobradav; thanks for posting it here, Intrepid. Supposedly 239 vehicles in the US are involved. Unfortunately, mine is one of them based on the VIN and the fact that I have "automatic" (Steptronic). I, too, will wait till the dealer has some practice, but with only 239 vehicles in the entire U.S., I may have the only one at my dealership.

BMW says it is going to provide valet service (house to house delivery), wash the car and fill the tank.

SI B24 06 05: To minimize the customer inconvenience caused by this Recall Campaign, pick-up (and deliver after repair) the affected vehicle from customer's home and provide appropriate alternative transportation.

Customers will be impressed when you return their cars cleaned inside and out and with a full tank of gas. Reimbursement information for the vehicle fueling and valet costs may be found in the Warranty portion of this bulletin.

I hope my dealer doesn't clean my car with the gasoline!

I'm going to make sure to use the parking brake when parking on any incline before I get the work done. Good thing I don't live in San Francisco. I'll have it done when I have my early oil change. Luckily I don't need a loaner, but I'll see what they offer.

I spoke with my dealer. They no nothing of this recall. I gave them a copy. I assume they will get notice from BMW shortly.

Must not be a real pressing problem. I hope I can at least drain the gas out before they come to pick up my 650i.
