Bmw Assist Not Working Properly
Since I purchased my e90, it did not display the vehicle color and information, on the screen where the RDS shows up, after I established the connection with BMW assist.
So I took it to the dealer last thursday to get it fixed with some othere problems that I am facing with my e90, including the software update. They started working on it on Friday, and they still couldn't figure out how to make it display those today(Wednesday). The SA called me about half an hour ago, and told me that they will have to replace the TCU(telecommunication control unit?) and GPS transreceiver. I am going to pick up the car this evening since they will not have the part ready until next wednesday, but I am wondering if there is anyone who is facing same type of problem. I researched on E90 post forums, and figured out that some of you with i-drive could set it through your i-drive, but unfortunately I do not have one. I really don't think it has anything to do with the hardware, i think it is rather setting type of problem. Does any of you know what the heck is the problem with my BMW assist? and hopefully know how to fix it without replacing entire TCU and GPS transreceiver? |

My BMW Assit system has been non-functional for about a month now. I haven't had the time to drop it off at the dealership yet though... since I have I-Drive, we might have different problems.

I took my car in recently for the Software upgrade. They had the car for 2 full weeks because of "problems with the car accepting the new software." Anyway, I finally got it back a few days ago only to discover that my BMW Assist is not working (the car is not transmitting its location to the Call center when the SOS button is pushed). So now I will be bringing it back in on Tuesday.

I just picked up my car this evening since they did not have the part ready 'till next wednesday. When I looked at the invoice from the dealer, I was soooooo happy that I have warranty with my e90!! The TCU unit they specially ordered is over $2500.00!!
Can you believe that?? Well I am going to drop off my car back at the dealer next saturday morning, and hopefully get it back on following monday. I will keep you updated more after they replace the TCU and Fin antenna unit. |

BMW assist worked great with Oct. 11 deliver. Had issues with bluetooth and E815 phone. Dealer replaced TCU unit on 11/5 and reprogrammed car. Discovered BMW assist could not locate car and could not read car info. Appears dealer did not enable assist. Assist working now but still having issues with bluetooth and E815. Taking to dealer today.
