I have the Motorola Combo Assist/Bluetooth unit in my car. The Motorola P/N is 84 10 69 65 056 (latest version) with a manufacture date of 19 April 2005.

I have no personal experience with the Visteon units, but from what I have read here and at X3/X5WORLD, the later Visteon units have voice recogniotion included. The earlier units require an add-on SES unit, according to what I read.

I would go back to your dealer and tell him that you expected the latest version of the module and get him to swap it out.

Our BMW: '14 X3 35i, Deep Sea Blue, Black Nevada Leather, Fineline Wave Wood, Satin Aluminum Roof Rails, Premium Pkg, Cold Weather Pkg, Navigation System, Driver Assistance Pkg with ALL them cameras, Premium Sound
Our truck: '03 Ford F350, 7.3L turbo-diesel, 4WD, Lariat package, Lear topper, cow catcher, Blue over Grey (Go Rice!)

I plan to do exactly that (tried today, but hardly anyone there due to the holidays). Hell it only takes 10 minutes to do a complete ULF swap in an X3, so I might just waltz in with the part and drop in on his desk.

This will at least prove if VR is contained within the latest 7th-gen Visteon ULF.

If not, then it looks like I would need to get this part: 84-41-6915-049

...not sure if it is worth it, depending on price.

thanks again. I'll keep ya posted.

I bought a generation 13 ULF off of Ebay and it works great in my 2004 X3. I did have to purchase an aftermarket pairing button from Bimmernav though.
