car on order

let me thank everybody for the help over the last couple of weeks. Just got out of the dealer and now let the wait begin. I had the hardest time picking the color.
Specs: stratus gray, black leather, cold,sport, premium sound, steptronic, active steering, hud, sat radio.

That's a beautiful color combo. Congrats on your new purchase. The fun has yet begun (and the wait is an agony, I can attest to that!)

i came very close to your setup. i stood and stared at the different colors for a long time. My wife was about to kill me

Great choices. Is "comfort access" still not available? Be sure to check in here often. It will help the nail-biting wait. And when you are about ready to take delivery, search for the lists of things you should bring/do at the dealer before taking your 6er home. You will probably have iDrive software 20.01, or better, which means more of the kinks will be worked out.

the "comfort acess" is a dilema. They just started offering it as an option so if the car is a fresh build i wil have that option. if the dealer finds a car to my specs and swaps with another dealer i cant get it. It was an option on my old car and it really doesnt matter to me either way.

As I have written many times in reference to one of my other cars, my CL55, it is a great option and I was unhappy BMW didn't have it. Coupled with the fact that you now have to insert the key (whoops, "fob") and then press a button nearby, it is a pain in the aft not to have comfort access (although the name is lame). If you can get it I would go for it. Then we can swap cars in a few months.

the debate goes on. after ordering the car with active steering I am having second thoughts. since I ordered the car as the dealer was closing on Christmas eve i am sure i can change my order on mon/tues morning. Is the safer bet to get the car with out active steering or is active steering something am going to wish i had. i never got to test drive a 6er w/out a/s so i never got to determine if you lose the "feel" of the road. SOS
