reverse light

my reverse light went out (drivers side). I took the car for a oil change today and told them to see about the reverse light. The service adviser informed me they had to take the rear bumber off, just to put a damn bulb in. WTF!!
So if my car was outta warranty It would cost almost $200 to change?!

Sounds like the back lighting was designed by Ferarri.

Did the dash show some message that the light was out?

I looked at the manual. All the lights can be replaced easily except the ones on the rear bumper.

My friend told me. Didn't get a dash/idrive warning light. Thats bugged out, that BMW would design that light like that.
My car has 23,000 miles on it. I'm going to keep a sharp eye on those lights. That bulb blew to quick for my liking.

You know! I figured that would be a 1 or 2 hour job at $100+ an hour labor rate.
