BMW 7 series wheel upgrade question any help would be appreciated

Hi, guys Iam looking to upgrade the wheels on my BMW 745i to an aftermarket setup. Right now my car has star spoked 19x9 and 19x10 wheels from factory. What I want to get is these forged wheels in same 19 inch size as to not mess with the smooth ride of the car. The wheels that I have looked at are forged and deep with 4" lip front and back. I wanted to go with 19x10 all arround with 4" deep lip. But the problem Iam runing into is that some one informed me that runing 19x10 in front would cause my wheels to hit the strut tower.

Iam very confused because I have seen so many people go with 20x10 and 22x10 in front with 20 x 11 and 22 x 11 in back. I dont know if they have had problems or not. I have even seen tire&rack offer 22x10 all arround setups. Guys any help would be welcome in this case. The reason I want to go with 19X10 all arround is because the wheels Iam going with either come in 19x10 with 4" lip or 19x8.5 with 2.5" lip. I dont want to go half an inch smaller in front then the factory setup and second Iam looking for the deepest possible look I can get. Which would clearly be with 19X10 setup all arround. Any of you guys that have experience in this please help me out.

wheels

Hey, I heard many stories like the ones you tell. I did a factory upgrade from the stock 19" to 20". What I did different was the size of tires and not only that I kept the smooth ride but I improved the handling.
Here is what I did. At the rear I put 20x10 with 315/35/20 and the front 20x9 with 275/40/20. I kept the Michelin brand because they are quiet and sticky. I was told they wouldn't fit but I insisted and I'm on my second set already.
send me your e-mail address and I will send you some pics.

it sounds like you are very confused (as you said yourself) about what is (granted) a complex issue. suspension geometry, wheel offset and width are very critical. i highly recommend you do some research before you turn your car into this

Hey thanks for the info. I was wondering if one could go any higher then 275/40 in the back of 7 series in 20" without rubing. You took the recommended rear size to the front of your car. As the recommended tire size for front is listed to be 245/40/20 in front. I would love to see the pics of your car. Here is my email Azk_27@hotmail.com.

So do the custom tire sizes fill the gap much better in front and back. I bet the car looks real aggressive stance wise specialy in the rear with meaty 315/35.

But one thing is your front is still 9 inches wide instead of being 10 inches. Do you think going one inch wider in front would cause problems with strut tower. Also you never had any rubing problems even when the car is driven hard or is full of people. Also what kind of Michelin tires are those as I would love to look them up @ tirerack.
