Brake dust???
Hi, all! I'm the very happy owner of a brand spankin' new 750Li.....just over 600 miles on it. Actually, I had a 550i for 1 day and realized I made a mistake. Don't get me wrong, the 550i drove like a champ but I realized I wanted more room, more luxury, etc... The dealer took back the 550i (they didn't have to) with about 60 miles on it. Of course, I'm in love with the 750. This honeymoon is gonna last a long time! I'm just pissed
that it took me this long to realize I was driving "crap" most of my life. So...onto my issues.... Anything I can do to keep the wheels cleaner? The brake dust builds up really quick. Kind of annoying. Also, the speaker on the back drivers-side door (just behind my left ear) seems tweaked. A buzzing sound comes out of it on certain songs. Sounds like it has blown out. Noticed it pretty much right away. I have an appointment in 2 weeks to bring it in (that's the soonest they have a loaner available). Anyone have speaker issues with their 750? Thanks! |

There is a good thread on keeping brake dust off the wheels in the Detailing forum of this site. Don't know about the speaker issue Dierks321 |

as for your speaker, have them cut out the black foam ring which goes around the speaker - that should fix it. had same problem on my 745 and on my 750 (750 got fixed in munich though)

Hey, about the brake dust, two solutions. One, wash the rims every other day like I do. There is nothing worst than driving a dirty car. Remember, you don't have to wash the entire car. When the wheels are clean, the whole car looks clean.
The other is replacing the brake pads with ceramic pads. This type doesn't throw as much black dust as the cheap ones from factory. The downfault is that it would have to come out of your pocket. And there is a third option. Don't drive the car. This guarantees the wheels will stay clean. As far as the noise, I've tried several times with the dealer and they have replaced the speakers three times but the rattle noise is still there. It is louder with some songs. Try listenning to Freestyle and the rattle comes alive. When you take the car to the dealer, have the Freestyle CD#9 handy and have the dealer listen to it. |

Yeah i have the same problem with my 745li. I mean i love the car and love the fact that the breaks are great, but still all the dust is just nuts. Im sure they can think of a way to have good breaks with less break dust. You almost have to clean it off daily

There are plenty of affordable low dusting aftermarket pads available and they offer similar to OEM performance.
