There should be a sticker on the inside of your windshield with the break in guidelines...

Hey...what does RTFM mean?
I read the sticker....but I have no idea what they are talking about.... My advice..."F" reading...just redline the piss out of it....it really makes the car worthwhile...breakin is where the car is the strongest anyways....IMO....Just kidding... No...seriously....stay under 4500..till 1500-1800...warranty covers the rest...well...depending on how big you are vs. the service tech at your local dealership.. Others will preach a bunch of BS....drive the damn car...that's what it's for...right? |

M break in is different from non-M. M is under 5500 RPM, no full throttle, no constant throttle operation (vary the throttle and gear, so no highway crusing wit hteh cruise control), not more than 105 MPH for first 1200 miles, then have serviced. The GRADUALLY increase RPM and speeds up to 3200 miles, with no sustained operation over 137 MPH during this period.
RTFM means Read The F (insert word of your choice, Funny, Flippen, Freaky, Fast, etc) Manual.

Didn't your salesperson go over the engine break-in procedure with you?
