why not get a butt strutt?

If the goal is to stiffen the rear - why not get a Butt Strut?

1.) The rollbar does a better job
2.) The rollbar is SCCA Stock Category legal
3.) The rollbar will allow me to use the car for Driving Schools
4.) The rollbar with a harness bar will allow me to fit shoulder
harness belts
5.) I like the aggressive look of the rollbar, even though it means
that the top is no longer powered

I have a ButtStrut for sale (1/2 the cost of new + S/H) if anyone cares.

That AssStrut scares me. It's kinda like the thing on the bottom of jets that land on aircraft carriers. You know that hook thing.

And...
Since my car is lowered via H&R and Bilsteins, an AssStrut doesn't seem to ber in da' cards for me. Too much chance of picking up every roadkill I drive over.

Who wants to clean gopher guts off of their undercarriage? Worse yet, skunk gutz!!! Yuck.

I was thinking about . . .

getting a butt strut, I wonder if the local chapter would bump me out of stock class with one (apparently they let people slide with the front strut brace). I'll check with someone on the rules commitee.

Too bad you didn't ask me that before I had the rollbar installed

If I was to guess (like I'm doing now...) I would say the rollbar weighs 1/3 to 1/2 more that the buttstrut.
The placement of the weight is in the strut's favor, but the advantages of the rollbar (to me) is worth more.

The very first drive with it on the car, I ran over a LARGE snake! There were "splatters" in the LR wheelwell, but it ducked the strut!
