Just watched it last night. Some wacky things I picked up on:

Search light: doctor examining him
Fire on the TV: Burning feeling from the gun shot wound
Religious commercial on the TV: Reading of last rights???
Stomach pains (didn't order the Grouper sandwich): open wound pain
Ordered the grouper sandwich: they changed the wound dressing and it feels better now

lots of other little things...I have to watch it again.

All in all, the Sopranos has been from Season 1 to now, a poorly written show.

I do enjoy it however... but that doesn't mean it's actually written well. They start sub-plots and forget them, the dialogue is entertaining at times, but I hate the lack of continuity from one episode to another. This season seems to have a bit of comeuppance in that respect, but it's too little, too late.

How do you know they forget them when the series isn't over? Things might all tie together this last season. And also I notice there ISN'T a lack of continuity when I watch the old episodes. They give lots of hints that play out in the later episodes. We just forget about them. Watch the old seasons on the box set or on HBO. You'll see what I am talking about. Almost everything is deliberate.

Each season has it's own "theme." I don't remember exactly off the top of my head, but the themes are the kids, the marriage, the family.....each season has a theme, so the focus changes from season to season.
