BMW Letter Extending Warranty on Ignition Coils
I just got a letter from BMW that points out potential problems with Bremi ignition coils on the 01, 02, and 03 cars. They have extended the warranty on the ignition coils to 8 years, unlimited mileage.
The letter states it is likely to be a problem only on a "small percentage" of the vehicles. It will cause a Service Engein Soon light and possibly rough running. Warranty is fully transferable to other owners. If you bought your car used and haven't gotten a letter, you might want to contact BMW NA and get your name and address attached to the VIN.

They are having problem with coils on cars after the '2003 date - up to 2006.
