I'm considering purchasing the extended warranty for my 2003 BMW M3, which currently has 49,900 miles on it. Since I am not the original owner, the BMW dealership Finance department said that I have two options:
1.) BMW-sponsored maintenance program covering oil changes, inspections, etc. for around $1,695 (up to 100,000 miles) 2.) United Car Care end-to-end warranty covering 'unexpected' items for around $3,900 (5 yrs or up to 100,000 miles) In looking at the brochure for United Car Care (platinum coverage option) it appears that this company also offers a maintenance warranty package that includes coverage for things like oil changes, etc. QUESTIONS: 1.) Should I purchase the end-to-end warranty (i.e. between 50,000 - 100,0000 miles, is the average $ value of repair costs > $3,900) 2.) Between the BMW-sponsored and United Car Care maintenance warranty, is one better than the other? Thanks!! |
