Depending on where you're staying your hotel might be able to supply a hose :-)
The AZBMW group washed around 20 cars at our hotel last year: |

I haven't looked closely when driving by lately, but here's one that is just a few blocks away from the fairgrounds:

I'm not staying in Santa Barbara, I live close to Bakersfield wich is about 2.5 hrs away, but you know BMW's and brake dust, it does'nt matter what kind of carwash, just want to wash the car before the show...

Here's one for you: (This is a "Coin operated Car Wash", you do all the work yourself) 527 Anacapa Street Santa Barbara, CA 93101 The map is a bit off, it's on the corner of Cota and Anacapa. If you come down State Street, make a right on Cota and it's on the next corner on your right. From there it's maybe a 10 minute drive up State Street to to Las Positas, where you make a left and you'll run right into the fairgrounds. http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q...bara,+CA+93101 Edited to add Coin Operated Last edited by GeneArch; 03-27-2006 at 12:57 PM. |

If you just want a Gas Station Drive Thru, State Shell 3060 State St, Santa Barbara, CA (805) 563-1001 It is pretty good, and very close to the fairgrounds. There are others, but these are the closest to the fairgrounds. The Anacapa Wash is a Do It Yourself wash. Everything in SB is close, less than 10 min away.

The DIY carwash might be a good idea since any full service carwash would probably not be open that early in the morning. That is if you're planning on being in SB early enough Saturday morning to wash your Bimmer (prior to 8:00 am). And don't forget change! It's a biotch when the change machines don't work and you have to go hunt for quarters when no one is open.

My favorite DIY wash is "Dailee Car Bath" located on Anacapa
St at Cota. Also, there is a guy with an E36 M3 who runs a mobile pressure wash business (tows the system behind his BMW). Two years ago he met us at Earl Warren before the event and dialed everyone in. I saw him on De La Vina a few weeks ago, and he indicated he would be interested in possibly doing it again this year.

The only problem with the Dailee car wash is that you're not supposed to do any "hand washing" there. My solution was to go late Friday night when they weren't busy enough for it to be an issue. This one really is a nice self-wash place -- it has low pressure spray (in addition to the usual high pressure) so you don't have to beat the crap out of your car.

There is also a place in Old Town Goleta. Off the beaten path, so it is usually pretty quiet.
I think it is the corner of Magnolia and Gaviota - http://maps.google.com/?ll=34.435124...06318,0.009978 |

I don't mean to push the product or anything...but for times like these, Protect all Quick Easy Wash is awsome.

I remember seeing a 24hr do it yourself wash place right next to the InNOut that everyone meets at on Friday night. Can anyone confirm? I only go to SB once a year....
