Drove an M3 for the 1st time today. - Bimmerfest

My local dealer never has them in stock, but i was out of town today. I was at the same dealer last week, and when we tried to go for a test ride, the dang battery was dead. I told him Id be back in town this week. So we took it for a spin today.

Cant wait till i can get one.

I have ignored the M3 for a long time. Not sure why. But when my wife told me to drive one for the heck of it... I was impressed and in love. Bought one a month later. Great car. Love them.

I wish i would have had more time in the car. It was little more than a spin around the block. Still ive seen enough to know i want one.

What tranny? SMG? Anxious to hear your take on it.

I'm a manual guy myself ... that SMG just didn't do it for me. I'm sure I could get used to it though.

It was the SMG. Im defnitley not a manual guy. Ive driven, but never owned a manual automobile, so this was a big thing for me. It was different, but was no problem at all for me in the very short time i was able to drive the car.
