Software upgrade for 750LI ver 20.x (Bluetooth wont pair up)
2 Months ago I took my car in for the software upgrade (had the original code since it shipped in June '05) so i assume my car has the latest 20.x CIP on it. I have driven it very much since then and have noticed major differences right away.
1) Street names in perspective view 2) Nice Clouds in the sky in the perspective view 3) Engine responds more quickly and does feel sluggish when i step on the gas. 4) No more groaling in the garage when i start her up in the AM. 5) MP3 disks have a * next to them in main CDC window AND the part that has me really pissed off is my Bluetooth wont pair up to my Verizon E815 anymore...what gives? Can anyone advise as to what I can do about this? (Dont tell me get a new phone) It used to pair up fine until they, (get this) replaced my whole computer because it was easier then upgrading all the codes manually.

Wow. I had the same problem with the phone pairing. now all you need to do. Turn on the 7. Go to Settings from the menu of the I-Drive. Go down to the phone option. Click on it. Then on the top there should be bluetooth and pairing. Now bluetooth should be on. When it is on then click on the pairing button. Next those three top lights should turn on. The red yellow and green. Then on your phone search for a bluetooth device. Then you would know the routine from there.
Lemmie know how it went, -Pwned |

PWNED
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! It worked. Why the hell would bmw put pairing under settings and not under communications. I would never have noticed that at the bottom of my menu.

I had the same problem, but I tried it while I was exiting the dealer, so they showed me when I came back asking....
The new pairing way is so much nicer. How do you like the night and evening effect of the sky? did you notice the new business phone # search on the navigation? |

Street names in perspective view
I don't see any street names in perspective view, only city names. I believe my software is 19.7. When I questioned my dealer about upgrading to version 20.x he printed out a vehicle summary from the bmw computer system which said that according to my VIN number, "there are no outstanding service campaigns" for the car. He said that bmw's computer will not install another version of the software unless specifically shows up as "outstanding" on this printout. Does this make sense to anybody? I'm a newbie, just picked up my 750LI last week.

My dealer (nick alexander in LA) told me the same bs. I find the level of service with BMW, at least at my dealer, very disappointing compared to Lexus and MB.
