MPG on the 2006 750Li

I have got about 2000 miles on the car now and the average mpg is nowhere near the advertised numbers of 17 street and 25 freeway.

My daily commute is about 50% surface street and 50% freeway. I have been driving very carefully with the accelerator and with no a/c to see what is best mpg I can get. So far the best I have achieved is around 15.4 mpg. What is everyone else's like?

around 1500 miles, getting 19.7 on highway miles (80%).
I used to get 22.7 with a 528i and the same driving patterns!

I have a 2006 750i with almost 90% of my driving is city and I do some highway driving, and according to my trip computer I am getting 14.9 MPG. I have to admit though, my driving habits don't take into account increasing the fuel efficiency of my car. I usually like to slam on the accelerator and I sometimes push the car to the limit. I do a lot of canyon driving and I love taking curves with my 750i. Active Roll Stabilization is amazing, the car is so stable that I even accelerate on wide corners. Coupled with the tight razor sharp steering of the sports package, the Active Roll Stabilization makes the 750i a true sports sedan. I think BMW should take this further in their next generation BMW where they would have Active Body Stabilization that prevents the vehicle from nose dipping when braking.

2006 750i, 75% highway miles, 20.2 mpg with 19" wheels, 22+mpg with 17" winter tires. Have about 5,300 miles.
