Building a 5
So, I really want to get my new car soon, I have made up my mind and the BMW is the way I am going for sure. I will probably get a 550i. Over at the BMW site when you build your BMW only a few options are given. I don't think they give you the whole list of options as I saw no navigation, heated seats, or anything like that. Did I just miss it or something? For all you guys, what options packages do you find most useful? The 550 comes standard with the premium package correct? I really want the sports package, but I want the style 89 rims. Could I substitute the 89 rims for the ones that come with the sports package and then just pay the difference? The 89's are 19 inchers right? I think the active steering is also worth the money. But anyways, what add ones do you 5ers find most useful?

If you build your BMW, you will see that there are sub-menus. If you click on the convenience tab, you will see that there are 3 pages of options. That is where the Nav and other goodies are.
I tried substituting the 122 rims that come with the sport package for the 144 rims. My dealer says that you have to buy the 144's because they cannot substitute them. Bummer.

You may just need to purchase the wheels you want and then sell the ones the cars comes with. I fear this is the only way...BMW isn't big on letting you customize your order very much at all....
