Crease In Leather Seat

Has anyone experienced a crease in the leather on the bottom section (where you sit) of your seat? It seams as though there's too much material and my driver seat has a section where the leather is acutally folded over. I realized this about 2 days after I took delivery. I thought it would stretch out with time and heat however it seems to be permanent. Will BMW replace my seat? I'll try to post some pics.

As far as I have owned cars with leather seats they all do that.
Avg. persons weight + leather = stretch, and yes leathers do stretch.

I had an M3 with an odd crease in the seat - it never "stretched" out - so assume it won't. I think it was not cut correctly and if I saw that again, I'd probably have it replaced immediately rather than accept it. If it makes you not love it, then what good is it? These cars are too expensive for that - but yes, pics would help.

This seems like a common issue with E60 seats. When I got my car home the day I took delivery, I noticed a crease in the drivers seat (brand new car with 13 miles on the odometer) and also thought it would flatten out over time, but didn't. When I had the car in for an oil change a few months ago, I had them look at it and the regional BMW field service engineer was there. They looked at a few other E60s in for service with the sport seats, and they all had the same issue. As a courtesy, the dealer had his leather guy steam out the crease. The leather is now flat, and only has a slight shadow of the crease line. It's also an issue on the new M5.

Well...it's understandable the leather would deform that much, since I'm a big boy...6" tall and 150 lbs...

Do you have sport seats? I do--wonder if it's unique to sport seats?

I sure will pay more attention when time comes to take delivery.

I would save your issues with the dealer with something more of issue like an engine noise or something. Its leather and as a natural material its prone to doing this. Fighting with the dealer over this may make them reject future claims on things you really want fixed.

I'm sure the dealer will be happy to fix anything which they can bill to BMWNA. It's not something that comes out of their own pocket.

Got the same problem on my '06 550 sport seats after 850 miles. Never had a problem on my '03 540 even after 59,000 miles. and the 550's leather sure doesn't feel any softer, stretchier or more pliable (just the opposite) What's up with that?
