Whose car is trapped at the VPC? Wanna whine?

I just have one day left, and time has really slooooowed down here too.

I ordered my car 04/20/2006. I was told it would take 6-8 weeks to take delivery on my 2006 M5 Alpine White. Its still not in production. It only says on order. BMW NA says that they dont know when its gonna slip into production. Should I start to worry? How long does it usually take? Its been about 4 weeks already, and from what Im reading, its probably gonna take another 6-7 weeks untill i get the car. Is that crazy or what? PLEASE HELP CALM ME DOWN! any info would be great.

WOW... I ordered my 2007 525i on 5/5 and it is finished with the build and awaiting transport as of 5/12. Maybe its due to the fact that you ordered a M5? I'm not really sure. Maybe talk to your dealer or call the BMW 800 number?

My car was also officially waiting to shipped. As of yesterday, it switched to "enroute". Who told you what ship your car is on? I ordered around 4/24 however it didn't go into production until the first week of May.

Go to this link http://schedule.2wglobal.com/
then to cargo tracking, then auto tracking and put your VIN # as cargo ID and it should show you.

My car took 4-5 days to show up on the cargo tracking site even though it had already been loaded on the ship. My dealer actually had all the shipping information on their system. Cars headed to the Chicago area are off loaded in Charleston, SC. Figure on 3-4 weeks to reach your dealer from the time it is loaded on the ship. I'm hopefull to have my car by Memorial Day but that all depends on how quickly the car gets transported from the port to the VPC and then on to the dealer.

Voyage: EB620-ITG. I was trying to receive the car before my b-day on 6/2 but that was wishful thinking. The ship doesn't reach charleston until 6/3.

My car is aboard "the Courage" which is now showing that is is scheduled to dock in Charleston 2 days early. Hopefully a good sign that my car may show up at the dealer by next weekend.

Doug, what dealer did you buy from? I bought from Laurel in Westmont.

I brought my car from Orland Park BMW. I actually went through the Costco Member Auto buying program. They were able to give me a few dealers who gave us cars at a predetermined amount above invoice. I think I did pretty good. I checked Schuamburg BMW and I called Laurel in Westmont. The guy I spoke with from Laurel gave me a really high quote; he was also a jerk So overall, I feel pretty good with the dealer. I'm curious to find out how long it takes your car to arrive in Chicago. Please keep me posted!

Also- I got a 2007 Black Sapphire Metallic w/ Black Leather 530XI with PDC, Premium Package, Sport Package, Upgraded Sport Wheels, Satellite Radio, Cold Weather Package, Navigation System, Logic 7 Sound; My total price was $57,417. Do you guys think I got a good deal?

I was actually sorry that I had bought from Laurel. I bought my last car from them, but I should have shopped around more and I just got caught up in the moment. So far the customer service and follow up from my salesperson hasn't been great. I'll post an update when my car gets to dealership.

Base Price 530IX = $45,905
Auto/step = $1,210
Premium Pkg = $1,640
Sport Pkg = $1,185
Sirius Radio = $540
Cold weather Pkg = $685
On-board nav = $1,640
Logic 7 sound = $1,090
Dest. chg = $695

Total Invoice = $54,590

Not sure what they charge for PDC & the Upgraded Sport Wheels if it is extra so.
From the total price I guess add your finance charge if any, dealer profit, tax and other misc. fees.
