Hello from Indianapolis

Hello everyone from Indy.

I am 27 years old, currently driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. I have been thinking really hard about buying a new 335i when it comes out. I have always wanted to own a BMW and since I am currently single and unmarried, I think it would be a perfect time to spend some money on a great car since I can afford it. I dont have a wife/kids/too much responsibility yet, I really want to own a fun sports car for a while. I am really looking at buying a 335i, but I am going to hold off probably until about next Sept so that the prices drop and I can get one CPO.
I am going to try to make sure I can get a good deal, but Dreyer + Reinbold are the only game in town it appears. I look forward to learning alot from these forums and everyone.
I know a year is a long time, but hopefully I can make it and can drive around a sweet jet black 2007 335i with some dvd-nav soon!!!

Hello res0nat0r,

I just went through your same situation. I looked at D&R, and was unable to get a deal from them. Take a look at the European Delivery section of this site. It is a great time, and with you planning several months in advance, you have plenty of time to prepare.

I worked with Irv Robinson from Barrington MotorWerks on the north side of Chicago and got a great deal and the buying experience has been amazing so far. I pick my car up in Chicago next week after driving on the autobahn last month. Irv has a sponsorship link on this site, or you can reach him at irobinson@motorwerks.com.

Good luck.

Wow that is a great suggestion and it might work out for me actually, I will definitely have to check this option out. My friends and I from college were talking about taking a 2 week trip around this time next summer, week one to China to visit our friend living in Shanghai, and then week two traveling thru Europe.

That would be great if we could goto Munich and I could drive us around Europe, it would be awesome!

Can you tell me how much money you saved versus buying locally? This seems like a pretty complicated endeavour, but I am sure BMW makes it easy for you. But I am still wondering about any import taxes, how long does it take to get your car back to the States to drive, etc...?

Thanks alot.

Once you have one you will never come back to any other car. You will always keep one BMW around.

Welcome.
